Lucky Dog Stay & Play, in partnership with the Erie Regional Chamber and Growth Partnership, will host a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Saturday, September 19, celebrating the opening of Happy Acres, a new nonprofit housing and enrichment facility for foster and rescue dogs.
The ribbon cutting will take place during Happy Acres’ 2nd Annual Doggie Carnival, which runs from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Proceeds from the carnival will benefit Happy Acres.
Happy Acres is a nonprofit housing facility for foster and rescue dogs located at the Lucky Dog Stay & Play property. The facility provides dogs with a safe, comfortable, and enriching environment while they await foster or forever homes. In addition to housing and daily care, dogs receive opportunities for outdoor time, exercise, enrichment, socialization, structure, and interaction.
Happy Acres partners with Happy Bark, a separate rescue organization. Through the partnership, Happy Acres provides housing and daily care for adoptable Happy Bark dogs, while Happy Bark oversees the rescue, fostering, and adoption process.

Happy Acres is a nonprofit housing and rehabilitation facility located on the Lucky Dog Stay & Play property in Erie, Pennsylvania. Through a partnership with Happy Bark, Happy Acres provides housing and daily care for adoptable rescue dogs while they await foster or forever homes. The facility was created to provide more than a place to stay, offering dogs enrichment, exercise, socialization, structure, outdoor experiences, and individualized care to help them thrive while awaiting their next chapter.

Lucky Dog Stay & Play was created around a simple idea: dogs deserve a place where they can feel comfortable, cared for, and have plenty of room to simply be dogs.
